Erin Stratton, MS, NP
Erin Stratton is a board-certified nurse Practitioner with twenty years of experience in the fields of aesthetic medicine, plastic surgery and women’s health. She performs non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatments, specializing in cosmetic injections.
Ms. Stratton grew up in Alexandria, Virginia, the daughter of a mechanical engineer and artist. Since an early age she has had an interest in science and skin health. Starting at age 11 through her mid-twenties, she suffered intermittently from cystic acne and rosacea, along with subsequent scarring and hyper-pigmentation. She spent many hours visiting dermatologists and plastic surgeons, seeking a solution to her skin disorders. At the age of 24, she found resolution with Accutane, followed by years of sunblock, diligent skincare, and in-office procedures. Through her experiences, she developed a passion for helping others suffering from disease.
After high school, Ms. Stratton attended Virginia Commonwealth University, where she studied biology as an undergraduate. As a student she worked as a laboratory technician in the department of immunology, immunizing and dissecting lab mice, assisting in HIV research for publication. After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in 1993, with honors, she worked at the MCV hospital toxicology laboratory, testing patients’ blood and urine for medication levels and drugs of abuse. She quickly found that her passion for helping others was not being met in the laboratory, thus she felt a need to go back to school and pursue a job in direct patient care.
In 1994, she began an accelerated second-degree program at the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing. In 1995 she completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing, in 1997. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.
Ms. Stratton began her medical career working in obstetrics and gynecology private practice. In 2006, she felt a need to explore her creative side and follow her early passion for cosmetic dermatology. Under the supervision of Dr. Alan Burke, a local board certified ENT and Facial Plastic Surgeon, and countless hours of continuing education, she became a certified injector along with certifications in lasering, sclerotherapy, lipo-dissolve therapy, bio-identical hormone replacement pellet therapy, and non-surgical skincare treatments.
For the past 12 years Ms. Stratton has been practicing as an Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner, where she discovered her true talent and passion.
